Anonymous: blacks got christianity upon colonialism. it's what they had throughout slavery; they had the lord hence the very high percentage of afro american christians relative to the total pop. however, them having the lord means that they abide by his word, which they believe to include the labeling of homosexuality as a sin. homosexuality, to most blacks, is a moral issue & not a civil rights issue. it may also be due to the low literacy level amongst them facilitating the parochial mindset.
